Here is a 5 second explanation: tenacity is for resisting debuffs and potency is for the debuff to occur

So what does potency do? Also what does tenacity do? How do they relate to eacother? I watched this video three times but at no point do you talk about what tenacity/potency are or do? I think I can infer that you need tenacity to overcome the target's potency? Maybe? This video is all over the place and doesn't really answer the question.

Nicely stated. Basically, we can use tenacity on certain toons effectively in Raids and light side/dark side battles but tenacity mods are mostly a waste in arena. I guess one could load Thrawn up with tenacity mods, but when you look at other factors like speed, potency, crit chance/damage, you have to contemplate what you lose just to gain that amount of tenacity.

Was looking for info on cls and while you mention him you don’t explain it
When he has +100% tenacity does that mean if he has 50% base that it’s doubled to 100%? If so is that 100% from the attacking toons potency eg attacker has 140% potency - 100% there is 40% chance or is it 100% tenacity nothing lands?

due to this video should i change the fact that on most characters that apply more debufs I put potency and on tanks/other characters I put tenacity? what if they only really apply one debuf like ability block like snowtrooper? Should i mod for potency then?

Warrior Presents Hey man, great video! So to cut to the chase just for the lame minded like myself haha basically the more potency you put on your character from mods the higher chance there is to land the debuff? Thanks for replying, if you do :)

Wow this is kind of bad game design. At high level PvP the gap in tenacity and potency is so big the entire mechanic doesn't even matter. All the mods, tenacity down, potency up buffs just get chucked out the window and all that matters is 15% rng dice roll...
